PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES
The aims of this syllabus are to enable candidates to develop the ability to:
§ Understand authentic business texts
§ Write English in a wide variety of ways within an extensive range of business contexts.
§ Extract and use relevant information from authentic written sources and employ a correct layout and textual structure in order to complete the given written task
§ Use structures, syntax and vocabulary both coherently and accurately
§ Demonstrate an extensive range of language
PROGRAMME CONTENTS
§ Reading and comprehending an authentic text and producing a piece of business writing related to this text.
§ Writing business texts from given information.
§ Reformulating and reformatting texts from one text type to another – specifically text to précis and digital/graphical/numerical information to text.
§ Extending and producing completed texts in a range of contrasting genres.
PROGRAMME ACHIEVEMENTS:
After undergoing this programme the candidate would be able to
§ Extract and use relevant information from authentic written sources and employ a correct layout and textual structure in order to complete the given written task
§ Use structures, syntax and vocabulary both coherently and accurately
§ Demonstrate an extensive range of language
TARGET GROUP
§ The programme is intended for those candidates who have reached a standard in English usage, which will enable them to write acceptable English without employer embarrassment.
PROGRAM DURATION
§ 32 hours
§ 4 sessions a week. Each session of 2 hours PROGRAM DURATION

The student will be awarded the certificate on successfully passing the written examination
§ 75% and above Pass with Distinction
§ 60% to 74% Pass with Credit
